Sweet Pea’s Story

This short video (soon to be uploaded here) shows a part of “Sweet Pea” the baby howler’s story: After mom and baby got hit by a vehicle, the babies head trauma made that she let go of her mom, and was left behind stunned. She was observed for a bit without regaining consciousness and thanks to multiple networking volunteers she was brought to  veterinary care within only hours of the accident. She was transferred to Dr. Isabelle on a parking lot in Belmopan, barely conscious, and was given emergency and shock treatment on the tail gate of FD officer Jazmin Ramos pickup, before bringing her to Central Farm for further assessment and care.

Update January 2013: Sweet Pea is currently also a hopeful candidate in Wildtracks Primate Rehabilitation Program
